ABOUT LAURA ROSE, LMFT

Welcome! My name is Laura Rose, the founder of Laura Rose Therapy & Coaching. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been in practice for 12 years. I have a physical office located in Marin and see clients virtually. I also work with clients nationwide as a coach.

I come from a depth psychology orientation, which takes into account the unconscious beliefs, attitudes, and self-defeating patterns hidden from everyday awareness that impact our well-being and relationships. In my practice, I use approaches like EMDR, psychodynamic, Jungian depth, and Somatic therapies to help you transform your inner and relational conflicts into opportunities for growth and life change.

My life experience as a mother, partner, corporate executive, meditator, and traveler, as all of the trials and tribulations along the way, led to my becoming a Psychotherapist. I’ve studied both Eastern and Western philosophies and religions, which allows me to bring a wealth of depth, experience, and insight to the clients whom I work with.

Almost everything I help clients through is something I myself have experienced. Through living a life of introspection and self-discovery, I have come to value the inner worlds of others and have developed immense compassion and empathy. I hope to be able to help you see the beauty in who you are and to provide the unconditional acceptance that is at the foundation of a journey toward growth and change.

My Education

I received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California where I was trained in Depth Psychology. I did my graduate research in EMDR, which has shown to be effective in the treatment of PTSD and other forms of trauma. I have found that utilizing EMDR is a straightforward way to approach symptom reduction for clients who feel stuck in unhealthy patterns. In my experience, EMDR combined with depth psychology addresses clients’ challenges in a very effective, holistic way.

ABOUT ELISE HOLLAND, AMFT

Hello! My name is Elise and I am an Associate Marriage and Family therapist (#138904). I specialize in working with teens and adults experiencing relational issues, anxiety and depression.

I believe in collaborating with my clients and use a combination of depth and behavioral approaches in my work. For example, we may decide to use psychodynamics, parts-work and Gestalt psychotherapy to uncover and process childhood trauma, and also CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy) and DBT (dialectical-behavioral therapy) to build and practice new thoughts and behaviors.

As a children’s author, I also enjoy story-telling. When appropriate, I am drawn to narrative therapy and mythology to connect people to their imaginations so that they may script better stories for themselves. I share the Dalai Lama’s belief that the purpose of life is to be happy. This doesn’t mean we go through life trying to escape from grief, anger, fear or any of the other, myriad emotions that feel bad to us – quite the opposite. If we are to experience happiness, we need to feel safe contacting all of our emotions. It is my intention to create the space in which clients can do this.

Above all, I practice Carl Rogers’ theory of unconditional positive regard, and work with clients to develop radical self-acceptance and compassion. Wherever you are on your life journey, I would love to chat with you about your, or your child’s therapy needs.

My Education

I received a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Michigan. In addition to working at Laura Rose Psychotherapy and Coaching, I work at the North Marin Community Services organization, where I provide psychotherapy to their teen and adult clients, and also to students at Sinaloa Middle School.

ABOUT ADINA SILVA, AMFT

Life circumstances might have impacted you, leaving you feeling stuck. Sometimes we experience discouragement, self-doubt, and worry, which is completely normal. When we find ourselves with those thoughts on ‘repeat’, it could be a sign that something else is going on. I believe in a strength-based approach and the importance of leaning in on your expertise – after all, you’re the master of you!

I’m Adina and wholeheartedly believe in giving ourselves a second chance while healing relationships. I work with individuals, couples, and families to restore communication.

Imagine if our relationships continued throughout its entirety with the same lighthearted laughter, curiosity, interest, and compassion as when we first met our partners. It certainly can, despite everyday challenges and difficulties, we experience.

Whether we work with a preventative lens or work to put out a fire, I work with folks to explore conflict and figure out their best way of working through it. There’s no such thing as “perfect”; it’s all about how we handle the hard times. You deserve to be happy and feel supported in your relationship. I’d be honored to walk alongside your journey.

My Education

Adina is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist registered with the Board of Behavioral Science (#105188), working under the supervision of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#83808) Laura Rose. Adina earned a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of La Verne. She has completed Brainspotting Phase I and also working towards sex therapy training.

Adina resides in the Inland Empire with her spouse and two “adult” kids (talk about an oxymoron). She enjoys all things beauty, traveling, crossfit, movies and pranks with her family. También habla español.

ABOUT ELENA EQUSQUIZA, AMFT

All too often, sex and spirit are completely neglected in the therapy room. When I tell people my primary therapeutic focuses are sexuality and spirituality, I am typically met with confusion. For many, these two aspects of life are entirely unrelated. What’s more, sex and spirit are almost entirely split off from one another within the collective unconscious. This split can leave us feeling empty, and we may struggle to find meaning in our lives. Yet I have found sexual and spiritual crises seem to go hand in hand, and tending to both our erotic and spiritual needs is essential in our pursuit of wholeness.

My goal as a therapist is to help you reclaim your birthright to sexual and spiritual liberation. I facilitate this process by integrating the principles of spiritual and depth psychology, feminist and mujerista psychology, liberation psychology, EMDR, and narrative therapy. Prioritizing pleasure is a radical act of resistance in a society that works to grind down our spirits and rob us of our joy. Together we can identify and challenge the oppressive forces that are stopping you from feeling fully alive.

I am open to working with couples, individuals, and adolescents from all walks of life. I especially love working with clients who resist sexual repression by embracing expansive sexual identities. I welcome people practicing ethical non-monogamy, sex workers, kinksters, and members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. As a Peruvian-American woman, I love to explore the challenges and strengths that come with multicultural identity. I believe my role as a therapist requires me to address the way ideas about race, gender, sexuality, size, ability, and class shape individual experience. When we realize we are not solely responsible for our shortcomings, but rather it is our oppressed position within society that causes distress, we can reclaim our power and begin to heal.

My Education

I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Spiritual and Depth Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles. I received my basic EMDR training and have pursued additional training in sexology and somatic sex education. I am fluent in Spanish and am currently studying Andean Medicine and Herbalism with the Escuela de Medicina Andina in Chile.

In my free time, I love to dance, spend time in nature, read philosophical and political literature, and spend time with my friends, cats, and partners. Prioritizing self-care and community-care keeps me grounded and energized. I have found pleasure to be an indispensable ally in my own process of healing from trauma.

ABOUT JULIA DE ROULET, LMFT

My therapy practice focuses on helping adults and teenagers, with a specialization in supporting those struggling with disordered eating and trauma. I start with new clients by identifying their goals for therapy, then work with them to uncover the underlying patterns, narratives and thoughts that affect their feelings and behaviors. After exploring the possible origins of their issues and bringing them to consciousness, clients may notice an increased capacity to bear, integrate, and
ultimately thrive in the presence of emotional discomfort. My work is informed by psychodynamic, Jungian, and psychoanalytic theories, practiced through a trauma-informed lens.

My training is in depth psychotherapy, which seeks to illuminate the unconscious of both the individual and the collective. In my practice, I like to complement this more abstract and esoteric modality with concrete, practical interventions such as those from the cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy traditions.
